"POOR FORSAKEN ONE"

Tribute to Beth the White Guardian

by Stephan "Joey" Cottrell & Perri-Dorcas Concinnia

Poor Forsaken One

Lonely beauty please hear my voice,
Sorrowed creature cast aside,
Lament perhaps your earthly choice,
But your face you need not hide.

Duplicity of men you learned,
When your form you wished to trade
Your true image how you've yearned,
And grieved the loss that you have made.

Your reflection's not as was for you,
And you are told your form is strange,
But your blood is still warm and true.
Within beats a heart that did not change.

What feel you for the man you prized,
For whom you pledged your soul?
His avarice now you've despised?
And how all your dreams he stole?

We're not all fueled by greed and guile.
I'm a mortal who knows and cared.
Please may we sit and talk a while?
Anguish eases when it's shared.

Your youth was cut untimely short,
And your future's rife with fear.
In a search to time's end you're caught,
Let me wipe away that tear.

Duty more than you did expect,
That your mission is to find
The scattered herds you must protect
Against murderers of your kind.

All of us we tread a road
That seems to have no end.
You're so frail for such a load.
I think you could use a friend.

Am I just too dissimilar,
You feel rejected and alone?
I also have traveled far,
But no path for me was shown.

Therefore I'd like to aid your quest,
If you feel I'm not encroaching.
Time we moved on, I think it best
I fear there's a storm approaching.
